Does anyone know the status of the online fulfillment center formerly co-located with this store?

Kresge stores were awesome. Dollar General basically took that format, minus the soda fountain, and made a big success of it

A store that size should be rebranded as "S. S. Kresge". Go back to the chain's roots.

About right. https://transformcoproperties.com/properties/at-kendale-lakes-plaza/ says this Kmart's "building square footage" is 110,187

The average Walgreens is 14,000 sq ft, the average big lots is 28,000 sq. If we assume this Kmart is 100,000 sq ft, Kmart will use 25,000 sq for its operation. This type of format would be more in line with a dollar general. Something like this may have helped Kmart remain as a small regional player if they had implemented it a decade ago. Today, this isn’t going to change much of anything.

They are bothering because I am assuming there is so sort of legal obligation to remain in occupancy at the site for X number of years. They are subletting most of it to generate some income.

Why even bother? Really, what kind of income can they possibly make with a store the size of a garden center? Hope it's enough to at least pay the light bill.

Someone said it's going to be like 75% to 25%, the ratio of new retailer size of store to Kmart size of store. Seems kinda small even for a small format Kmart.

What kind of fulfillment center can operate in a space of a garden center? There can't be much of anything to fulfill.

Is this the location that also serves as an online fulfillment center? Will online fulfillment continue in the downsized location too?
