Someone said ME is gone. Is that Eckhouse?
I want to be laid off so badly
I gave 19 years to Quill and was let go. But Sycamore just bought Lowes Canada stores, so maybe they will focus all there attention on firing folks up there! Go Justin T!!!
SS in the driver’s seat….AHAHAHAHAHAH. Like, oh my god…….AHAHAHAHAHA.
Best of luck team. I think you might need it.
What departments today foe layoffs
I gave Staples everything for almost 15 years and today was the end.
Lots of folks let go yesterday, VP’s at quill and management. Unbelievable that they let good folks go and left KR and SS in the drivers seat…
My position was eliminated roughly a year and I couldn't be more grateful. Had a choice of three great offers from three great companies. Each of my offers was 50% higher than what I was being paid at Staples. It made me realize how long Staples had been screwing me.
If you are still there, you are either scared to make a change or entirely too complacent. Believe in yourself and your skills.
It has been almost a year, right before Thanksgiving that I was set free! I would stay prepared that place is an utter disaster and worst leadership ever in all areas of the company.........they keep doing surveys and wonder why they are so bad, they just cannot understand how bad they all are!
I was layed off last year and it was the best thing to happen to me. I slept the best I ever did that same night, took a 7days to relax and then started looking on LinkedIn for work.
Filled out about 30 applications and took every interview to get into interview mode.
Ended up making about 55k more then I did when at Staples.
This one time...at band camp... I worked for a company... Staples Sucks you all will be laid off...blah blah blah
You know who stinks, ASV-E. Probably the worst “leader” I’ve ever been around.
Big meetings this week off site in ct and im sure layooffs will happen anythinh to save a dollar, the stores are so bad because labor is so low in stores if we had labor store would be stocked and make sales
So sad to see a formerly great company in such a slow and painful demise. I was let go just before they changed the Staples logo from a bent staple to a coffin lid.
All hands, said it all. Doesn't matter if you perform, change is necessary and you are just a number. Lay people off and hire new for same roles. Folks here won't apply to jobs that could excel in. WHY. SLT does not care on your growth only theirs. PATHETIC. Calls are the same. Noone ever tries to understand how it really works. Moral is in the toilet because of the messages being given. Stop the BS and tell it straight. BCG running the company from a sales perspective WITH NO SALES EXPERIENCE. Come on. We are not innovating like Amazon and ODP. We are in a new Era act like it.
What group did EC work with?
Just be prepared. You never know when it will happen…..but eventually it will. Maybe not in 2022 but maybe next year. You won’t get much notice either, especially for your benefits. Many have escaped the layoff nightmare but eventually you will be targeted, especially if you are an older employee.
ME and EC were just laid off so JL saying no lay offs is already false
Confirmed by JL in Sales all hands - no layoffs
It’s always week or two before Thanksgiving so it’s not within the “holiday window”. I’d guess next week because they are extra caring.
ME leaving is probably the best thing to happen to this company since 2019. The guy was an arrogant ja----s with a poor strategy who was leading the sales org towards its inevitable demise. I wonder what’s going to happen to all of his buddies in leadership positions now that he’s gone (AF comes to mind)
He was better than JH but that was a very low bar
Yes ran promo.
If ME is the guy who ran promo then that is no loss. The guy was a jerk who made everyone around him miserable.
Who is ME?
What happened to ME? He seemed competent…
Nothing surprises me anymore….
And so it begins With ME's abrupt departure.
Nope, Staples is in great shape. They have the pyramid.
Where are the layoffs happening ?
Staples is a dying company, there will always be layoffs. Companies have learned to do without overpriced office products and Staples is doubling down on its core business rather than innovating. As long as there is someone willing to do a job for less, Staples will continue to reorganize. Rather than worry about layoffs, just leave.
What proof for week before Thanksgiving?
Nope this time around they don't layoff instead they force you out.
It will be week before Thanksgiving so not before the holidays. Good luck.
nope. try again
