Thread regarding HCA Holdings Inc. layoffs

Layoffs at HCA

HCA laid off employees and won’t provide unemployment benefits either.

Can you please elaborate on this? Are you saying that people were laid off and didn't receive severance or that they received severance and could not collect additional unemployment? There's a huge difference and I'd really like to know which one it is for the future.

When I was let go, I was forced to resign. They said they would fire me and I wasn’t getting severance or unemployment. Luckily, I already had another full time job with benefits and was double dipping. The only reason I hung on was for the severance package I thought I would get for being there 12 years.

Yes we are laid off. We have the option to apply for call center jobs. If we don’t take those jobs we are considered as resigning and thus not eligible for severance or unemployment. It is very shady.
