There are many reasons why most people would like to work from home. I'm interested in what, to you, is the most objectionable aspect of RTO? Wasting time? Spending money on fuel? Coworkers?

Time wasting for sure. I can't imagine going back to an office regularly. I get to spend the "down" periods of my day hanging out with my kids before/after school much more often.
Also did not fully appreciate how much time my 9 hour shift actually costs over a week, month, year. Traffic, getting up earlier to get ready, when work is done I'd still have ~45 minute drive home in traffic. It's not even close, I honestly don't know what kind of comp package I'd have to get to give all that up and go back to office, but I'm confident this place isn't going to give it to me.
We shall see how the cookie crumbles.
Knowing that it isn't applied fairly. After all there are some remote workers who will remain remote. The solution: extend the remote work benefit to all, at least to some degree.
FTL site is in a cr---y location (very high traffic). So the commute and all the downsides that go along it would top my list. FTL is often meat locker cold, so there is constant discomfort, even with a jacket. Coworker distractions aren't as bad as they were pre-pandemic (when they were constant due to the d-mb open office layout), because the floor is mostly empty now, but distractions are there. Disregard for employee health: the pandemic isn't over, as we'll soon see with the next surge (which I'm sure the PE owners will ignore). Also, not needing to go to the office for any reason other than that TK can't comprehend my job.
The worst part is the PE owners and Krause's denial that flexible work options matter to skilled and experienced talent. Those people that have "marketable skills" have already left this sinking ship. What remains now is the leftovers.
Meanwhile, PwC says that the "War for talent is over" -- we win every time we choose to move on from obsolete leaders and employers https://www.cnbc.com/2022/10/26/the-war-for-talent-is-over-talent-won-says-pwc-us-chairman.html
Less exposure to other people's colds. Already see people coming to the office with persistent bad coughs. I thought we had learnt from covid.
More interruptions. I’m far less productive in the office. There has been to actual benefit to being in the office either, so it’s all downside.
the snacks suck! not to mention there is no alcohol in the coolers. barbaric!
on a serious note - the REASON for the RTO is what is the most objectionable.
Commute (fuel costs, time it takes, fighting traffic), distractions and interuptions in office, uncomfortable workstations (temperature in office, single monitors, booking desk space)...these are just a few
