Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Working at Dell is like working on the severed floor

If you watch severance you’ll get this. If you don’t well google it. Working at Dell is like working on the Severed floor at Lumon. It’s incredibly non-technical, nobody knows what’s going on, the leadership keeps you in the dark and is terrible, you don’t get good rewards, services are terrible, you are forced to think MD is God like, you get treated like a lab rat.

If you work at Dell you work on the severed floor at Lumon…that’s sad.

Yeah. This has totally been a conversation with coworkers recently.

Severance has team building and parties and field trips. We get none of that. Sit down shutup and do your work or leave so we can replace your job from India.

@a3+1jnzx5j7s - too bad, unlike severance, we have to remember our workday on the mind numbing commute home

Non-technical? Shadow me for a day.

As for the Severance reference, yes parts of it home as they would in any office where you do work all day and are never sure what you contributions yield. I know what I’m doing.

As for Severance itself, I kind of like it’s dystopian view of work, although I find myself fast forwarding a lot through some of Director Ben Stillers masturbatory dragged out scenes where the only one who must me pleased with the ‘mood’ he is setting. But like work, I will stick it out to the end. However if they try to milk a third season out of it I don’t see myself watching it anymore.
