These are only being piloted in areas without pharmacies - where others (like Walgreens) have closed

Brick and mortar retail is dead. Or largely dead. We have covid and Amazon to thank for that.

Good. It’s time to start laying off the uneducated disposable labor working in our retail stores. They have been laying off the qualified educated employees at HQ and WFH for the past 2 years.

Walgreens tried this. It looks good on paper but not in practice. The stores don't perform well. The 'synergy' between front and pharmacy was (key word was) the formula that worked.

Well, if they really want to save money, how about not keeping the FS open so late after the RX closes. It gets very quiet after the RX closes. Close the front with the pharmacy and you'll save a boatload on payroll.

Seems like an overdue good idea. Keep the parts that are generating revenue and reduce the footprint to a level a skeleton crew can manage.
