Very early in my career, I was plainly informed that the profit from a cup of coffee was greater than profit from gasoline on a $/gallon basis. The point that the manager said that to us was to emphasize the need to cut costs.

Amazing how this “oil and gas” company thought diving headlong into Retail was a good idea. Always great to have petroleum engineers and gas station clerks on the same payroll, these are certainly fungible resources.

I will bow down to Elliot if they manage to get rid of HL. Long overdue. How he has lasted this long is a mystery. If the company ditches the petrol stations, how will we sell the millions of cups of coffee that BL used to think was a great achievement.
