Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Trash merit increase; mediocre bonus, I am checked out and looking for next opportunity

I am no longer giving an effort for only a 2.5% increase in salary; how do they expect to keep anyone with this garbage?

Tired of the mediocrity/ trash stock price. Cannot wait to leave this stagnation

"but your raise is tied to either exceptional performance, or more largely tied to your current salary, and how it relates to fair market value."

Spent a couple decades before retiring and I found this to be very true, for the most part.

It has been the Ford way for decades.

It's been speculated, and I have no way of confirming whether this is true or not, but your raise is tied to either exceptional performance, or more largely tied to your current salary, and how it relates to fair market value.

Those that are undervalued in salary but still contribute in a meaningful way, are seeing larger percentages. Those that are already at a very fair rate, are receiving less of an increase, closer to the 2-3% range. Those that are exceptional, may exceed the 2-3% range regardless.

IF, any of this is true, maybe it may explain a little bit. I know where I am, my own manager stated I came aboard with a excellent rate. He didn't have to disclose this, but he knows exactly how much everyone in the group is paid. I provide great work, but I also still do over and above work that others in my area do not - IT related although we are not IT. It's not a lack of appreciation or acknowledgement in anyway, and yet I still achieve these smaller increases. While I can't say the rational above is certain, maybe it's a sound guesstimate.

Or I could just su-k too, and I don't know it.

I got a 3%, but was told my bonus will be less next year with the new bonus target structure based on salary. I am looking very hard for another job, but it's a very bad job market.

The inflation rate in 2024 was 2.9 percent. That should make you feel better. I think the idea behind lowering your standard of living is to encourage you to voluntarily leave.

If you're at the point of complaining on a forum like this, you probably have been getting these kinds of raises for a while. If you were unhappy and had better options, you'd be gone by now. But you don't, so you stayed. Good luck champ.

Correct.

Without pension, there is no reason to stay. So why are you still here?

Same to the tech companies, once the sign-up stock options can be exercised, many of them leave for another sign-up stock option.

Ford can’t Afford to pay nice merits when they are losing thousands on each EV.

But get who is getting paid nicely running the company into the ground? JF and DF.

My 2%-3% merit increases started around 2000, so these cr-ppy raises have been around a long time.

All talk, if you had worthy skills, you would have left long ago. Can’t wait for your next post in 3 months saying how sick and tired of this place you are.
