We've clearly lost on this one 😔

Actually, no. There was a strong credible rumor of a layoff to address under performing individuals. As part of the winter cycle review process, team managers had to identify 15% of their direct reports as rating of 4 or 5 - with 5 being an immediate PIP. You could have a 4 if you had the budget for it. This would be very very similar to what Meta and other tacky a-s companies have done.
But I don't think this turned up enough of a count. PLUS Austin's 2 floors in a potentially-cool-and-swanky downtown location (in 10 years) are expensive. It made it the next logical place to go.
If you are at Wayfair: you need to either get out now or be well prepared for when it happens.
What does TDC stand for? Haven't heard anything about this as a remote employee!
No one reported it because y’all shout them down with fake news claims. Just look at the last thread on a possible layoff date. So many get down voted and shouted down for reporting mini layoffs or team restructuring.
Why keep Austin TDC and other tech employees when you can get 3 employees from India for the price of 1? Yes, also the market is down and tariffs are causing shenanigans..
It wasnt just Austin it was other major tech teams including employee tech and SHOP teams. They are doing this coz the stock price is plummeting. Other orgs will be next this is just the start of whats coming.
340 employees! An entire location wiped out
This was a sudden surprise 340 employees.
Because people on this forum just complain when people post about a ‘non major’ layoff. Shame on this community.
Yeah, this came out of no where. Sad day
