TSMC could have bought all of Intel for $90B but instead decided to spend $100B on its own factories in the US.
Nobody wants Intel fabs.

@a3 Late? On Intel time until end, is it my friend?
I think @ab said it best: we’re trash.
And even if you’re not and you’re still at Intel: too late, it’s game over in this economy. Like our career, with Intel Inside it.
Buying Intel has too much baggage attached. It will be cheaper to just start from scratch.
All hope is gone for Intel. Now nothing can be done. Us government and Trump have shown Intel the middle finger
Yup. They didn’t want to buy trash essentially. They didn’t want us on their books and neither does anyone else that is why very few of us are finding work
@a3 Get out of my head. Where, when, and how? You’ve got the why pretty well covered.
@a1 If you haven’t noticed, broadly, we’re not employable.
I’m taking that, and a series of other events of the past decade leading to this, to be a flashing neon sign that the time in which I was to occupy this physical body is past, and probably egregiously so.
Or, as the White Rabbit said, “I’m late! I’m late for a very important date.”
if you work in fab quit.
if you work in prod co, find a new job.
If you don't work for intel, get a mental check up for acting like an 7 year old.
