Nurses in clinical services class action

Nursing leadership came up with this new decision, not new policy, not law that they want everybody to have a nursing license in their state of residence, which is not a requirement of all companies. They’ve put many nurses on leave without pay they cannot do this without written notice or reason if anyone’s interested post on here, we’ll get in touch

I cannot comment on someone’s post here, but it is NOT a requirement to have a license in the state you live in. However, if it is a Compact state, then you do. Know the laws…

Nurses need to know what their licensing board requires bottom line, as you are responsible for your own licensure. If your nursing license originates in one state, but you move permanently and change your address to another state then you need to check your licensing board for your original license and see what the requirement is. Most boards of nursing have a 30 or 60 day notification requirement when you permanently you permanently move out of the state. so your employer is not doing something inappropriate as the licensee you should know your board requirements.

Get licensure clarification from your home state and state of residence. Contact the BON for clarification about what is required. Also, a company can implement something stricter.

New Compact state rules (effective Jan. 2, 2024) reads:

402(2) A multistate licensee who changes primary state of residence to another party state SHALL apply for a multistate license in the new party state within 60 days.
