The biggest mistake of my career and it took me less than six months to realize it. Never again will I prioritize pay over everything else when changing jobs.

There needs to be a study on the culture of this institution. It’s the worse I’ve seen in my entire career. People on my own team are uninviting and just sour with each other. I should’ve listened when a former coworker tried to warn me the worst of the worst resort to Truist because they’re not tolerated at great companies. Here, they thrive while management enables bullying and unprofessional behavior.
@OP, something similar. But I didn’t stay. My newest employer asked why I left after a short stint during the interview and after I finished my response, 2 of my now bosses said they had also left awhile back. They weren’t high up but in the trenches working with their teams. They said they were misled about their positions post merger and although leaving disrupted their households briefly, they don’t regret it. 1 did hang around long enough to see the last on his team retire with what respect was left.
Ditto — exact same lesson learned.
3 years ago left an awesome financial institution that I had been at for quite a few years (and treated me well) just to come to this do---o.
"I can't believe I left a good job to join Truist."
Don't despair, friend! Work hard, learn how to play the game, and in just two or three short decades, you might just make it to AVP!
You are not the first nor will you be the last to make the mistake of coming to SunTruist thinking the grass is greener. Many thousands are here and somewhat stuck for various reasons. Get out if you can if not get by until you can.
Feels like brand new wipers on a broken windshield, duddinit? Follow your head, heart, gut, nose, and all five senses….. go now. A new employer will understand a “whoops” that took a few months to realize.
Sorry to hear it.
Truist is really an employer of last resort
It’s not a good place
You obviously did not check this forum before joining…
A sh-t bank.
