So with the current tariffs in place and even more to come especially with finance, what do we do with China and some of the other regions. Do we close up shop or do we still expand in those regions.

“So is it a good idea to trim back in a geopolitical region that’s known for:
a.) counterfeiting patents, trademarks, and intellectual property
b.) hacking\back door\cyber exploits
Is this a wise choice? If so, is it one we will make?
Before anyone gets too upset, I was thinking Russia but if China came to mind that should tell you something as well.“
I have a bad feeling that will contribute to Citi being a house of cards ready to fall.
The app will not be able to function correctly. No more new features and no one really knows how to fix it if something goes wrong. That knowledge will die if Shanghai team dissolves
@aj+1jnk03whv, do you think you / your local team will be impacted if the Shanghai team is laid off?
It's not geopolitical unrest. It's self inflicted chaos. It's Trump and team who are the ones thinking the rules don't apply to them and trying to get away with it. I doubt any company - or individual for that matter - can deal with the unpredictable narcissistic instability of the US at this particular juncture.
I was thinking what will happen to all the Shanghai devs and other roles Citi hires for there. Most of the teams are heavily relyed on that location. I even seen more recent hires for dev roles in that location, even after Trump took office. I don't think Citi thinking what will happen yet. Who knows what the real answer is other than Jane and her top execs. Speculating, probably thinking the rules dont apply to her and try to get away with it.
