Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

should I be worry

I have not heard any more layoff rumors, does that mean we are safe for the first half of 2025?

"should I be worry"... yes, if your resume doesn't have correct use of English you are probably toast. So you should be worry... most people would be worried.

The unfortunate reality is without a sizeable and steady income in this country, you have very little intrinsic value. You aren’t even edible. You just consume and produce waste with no tangible offset.

Welcome to New World Order. It’s up to you to decide if that worries you.

Nothing to worry about as it's certain you will be terminated

Split seems a sure thing and TSMC announcement might reflect that they will at most make a small investment in IFS once it is independent, and maybe not even that, if the 'split' is Broadcom taking over Products, leaving Intel as a pure foundry play.

I'd expect BC to shed a good 50% of Product headcount, as it would be redundant. Synergies..

TSMC likely is also using the announcement of so many additional fabs as a way to slow the migration of wafers to IFS due to tariffs.

So if 18A stumbles then IFS would have to get real about all those losses and maybe sell off or shut down some fabs. Mothballing Ohio is merely a good first step. Hopefully Caufield comes on as CEO and does a deal to sell the non-EUV (aka 'BK') fabs to GF. That would really clean up the balance sheet.

Good news is that engineers and techs should be able to land a new role in a reasonable time frame. Such is life in Tech.

Nothing is safe at Intel. Your worry is justified for an escape plan.

They beat earnings by two Billion last quarter. They got two billion from government last quarter. Does that answer your question?

As long as you aren't a PowerPoint pushing 6-sigma stooge. If you are then you should go online to the Jack Welch University immediately and start on another gold star blue belt certificate
