The marketing queen is unqualified in Teradata’s industry but a pig is a pig, no matter how much makeup you put on it. If Teradata’s marketing was true over the past 8 years they’d still be a player. It all starts with product. The development organization has been run by political leaders focused on career advancement and stock grants. In fairness, it’s all they had as the two leaders the past 4-5 years had no engineering background prior to their roles.
Marketing have done such a terrible job that no one ever thinks Teradata and AI in the same sentence. Teradata, bankruptcy, legacy and archaic are often used together
Yet another shiny thing they are chasing. She has no idea what she was talking about which is so embarrassing.
Last ditch effort to look relevant - no company is looking at Teradata for their GenAI solution. They are all looking to turn off Teradata and will only keep it as long as they have to.
Having listened to her presenting it, I doubt it. Like a fish out of water.
