Thread regarding Tesla layoffs

Tesla moves toward launching Uber competitor

Tesla is taking steps to launch a ride-sharing service that could compete directly with Uber, Lyft and Waymo.

This move, into an already crowded market, will save jobs and prevent layoffs.

"compete directly with ... Waymo"
Hard for Tesla to compete with Waymo, in my opinion. Waymo as far more sensor capability than Tesla. Waymo has lidar, radar, + camera, while Tesla has only camera. I would trust a ride in a driverless Waymo MUCH more than a ride in a driverless Tesla. Can Tesla even get permission to do a driverless Waymo-style taxi?
