Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Make them pay you to leave

Do as little work as possible. You don't owe these cretins anything. THEY didn't hire you, and YOU didn't ask for them to take over. Make them lay you off and pay to do so. All they understand is money, so the more you cost them, the better.

This is the best possible advice. Stay and milk this cow until they pay you to stop. Make sure not to do them any favors.

They paid severance to the people they let go last week, under Citrix separation policy. Picking and choosing who to pay from here on is asking to get sued.

The merger agreement, which is available, says they will adhere to Citrix severance policy for, I believe, a year. That's a contract, "friend." Oh, if they didn't have to pay, why "on God's green earth" would they pay ANYONE?

Severance is never a guarantee. Tell me you know this.

What on god’s green earth makes you think you are guaranteed a severance? Whether you stay and work hard or work less, if they decide to let you go, a severance is never ever guaranteed, friend.

I doubt walking away from a trunkful of money is going to make you look particularly smart to your prospective future employers.

I can't pay my mortgage with dignity, @src+1jnOv72i. Unless you have something really really nice already lined up it's stupid to walk away and leave all that money on the table. If you've been here long enough to accrue a nice severance that is.

Dignity? Ridiculous. Go on an interview - they're not going to ask why you didn't leave earlier! Sorry, TK, we'll wait for the package. A job's a job.

Or, leave with whatever remaining dignity that you have left and never look back.

Nobody wants to hire the ones that stay to the bitter end of this pitiful fiasco.
