Weird Experience -AWS

So I have had a weird interviewing experience from AWS. It happened the first time and I didn't see any red flags but now I am beginning to think this might be a scam running on LinkedIn.
So, the modus operandi is as follows-
A sourcer recruiter contacts you via email at LinkedIn, includes a link to the hiring manager's profile and the internal recruiter he reports to along with a link to the AWS job posting. The position is always for a BDM. You send them your resume, they set up a call which is really strange. The person on the other end sounds like an old guy who has no experience with much technologies. Anyways there are 2 phone interviews. After that they disappear. No contact
After a few weeks, the same format, same process happens again.
Just to clarify, this is not some whiny post about why I didn't get hired or anything (I have already worked at Amazon and frankly don't care less about it). But the whole process sounds strange especially since from past experience, I know that recruiters don't like to give out details on hiring managers before they call you and know you better.
btw, they were using Amazon Chime. Is this a ploy to use the new product and test it out?

Ok - pie in the sky - I think they're testing a voice analyzer solution (truth/lies indicator variance); I also get a feeling they are using a facial recognition reader in the Chime meeting/video app- again, who better to have that if either or both are true.

Sounds like some type of scam. Shady. Is it to steal you identity?
