Why can't these overly wealthy geriatric types just S.T.F.U and enjoy their ill gotten corporate gains? He should be spending his time repenting or searching for a spiritual awakening that don't include greed or power.

Dead company always bring old people on spot light to talk about their past.

He is spot on. Let 18a increase intel revenue with there own products to be able to finance the future foundry strategy. Good times are coming…..slowly. Hire a freaking awesome ceo now!

The strategy he proposed drove to whatever Intel is today. It is like putting the hope of the company on finding a superhero. It needs much more than that to save the company.

Can he recommend striping more benefits away from the regular employees like he did before? What a POS.

You need one good CEO to make a great company for 50 years.
You need four bad CEOs to destroy a company in less than 10 years.

What can he do to put Intel back? Buy or dump more stocks?

I liked these two quotes:

"... The board members are well meaning but off target. They are two academics and two former government bureaucrats, just the type of folks you want dictating strategy in the ruggedly competitive semiconductor industry. ..."

"... Currently the company is being run by a CFO and a product manager. The challenge for Intel is to get someone who understands the business of making chips, not someone who spends their time splitting the company into two pieces. Along the way, you might also worry about the Intel board. ..."

It’s clear someone called him and asked that he do this. The talking points are exactly what have been said for months and months.

He is like Intel and has not changed at all. Reality will keep showing him that he is wrong.

Barrett's tenure as CEO set the stage for what you see now. When the ship initially hit the iceberg, Barrett was at the wheel.

Craig Barrett is a senile 85 years old man..
very much senile like our current US president and the past US president (no partisanship here). So, he just needs to go away and drool in his oatmeal in Paradise Valley or wherever he is currently living.
