The very best of luck to anyone working/selling storage. You guys are going to have to work double-time if margins are to be maintained - AI servers basically being sold at cost and CSG is in the Emergency Room on life-support.

But wait there is good news - MD, the board and shareholders just received an 18% pay rise with an increase in dividends and $10BN share buyback. Where do you think they’ll find the money for that - they told us last night - more cost efficiencies via “modernization”. Anyone around long enough knows what “modernization” means.

A40ll these years without any innovation or federal certifications our competitors kicked our as--s. We deserve everything we get!

I think he had responsibility for storage during the Equalogic and Compellent years. That went well didn't it.

You would have expected someone from EMC to have been heading up this area (but all the EMC leaders got paid off some time ago).

Good thing we have Travis in charge of Storage Strategy. He is widely thought of as a visionary across the industry! Just look at his decision to forego building a parallel file system storage offering when it could have actually been relevant.

Modernization = “I don’t know what I’m going to do. I have no innovation so I need to go back to my core competency. I made some big bets, sc--wed up and now I need to WFR people. Wait. I’m too cheap to do that so instead I’ll try to make their lives difficult so they’ll leave.”

That’s “modernization” at Dell.

We're probably sc--wed then. It takes weeks to get a response from the sales team every time I have a customer inquiring about buying more storage and gas only gotten worse since they played off half the sales people.
