Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

What has Sammy done today? this week? this month? this year?

Still trying to figure out what this guy actually does on a daily basis other than flying around the country for photo-ops in the company newsletter. Not transparent at all. Does he hide in his Melville executive suite all day? Does he even come in to Melville at all?

He's in the office 5-days. Why do you think he wants us in the office more? If he's there, everyone else should be too. Holiday on a Monday? Come in Thursday.

I think instead of voicing our opinion on why we hate Canon we should use this forum to communicate to senior level executives.

I will start.

Problems exist that are out of our control. For example, service continues to be an issue and doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Service issues will force customers to be buyers. I think we all know every competitor is fighting for new business. Our higher pricing versus a competitor that has KO promotions doesn’t not work well. We are losing accounts left and right. We need more support.

Are you listening Sammy or you don’t care about toner based products? If you don’t start focusing on some of our toner based customers you will suffer greatly. Considering the face of your production team with all the relationships just suddenly retired (or resigned from what I heard) inkjet may blow up in your face. We also will have very little inventory in 2026 so you won’t even see inkjet make a difference until ‘27 or ‘28 if you are lucky.

Here is an idea. Put out an employee survey and listen to the people who actually do the dirty work (deal with customers) in this company. You can’t fix the issues if you don’t know the issues. All the people around you are “yes” men (or women). The results tell you different. Start communicating so we can save this sinking ship. We are too good of a company to fail like this.

Hmmm, I’m beginning to think Canon is not a very good company.
