Hearing all remote managers are being cut, is this true?

There are a lot of people that don’t announce things publicly on LinkedIn and keep the same job title active until they find a new position. So that theory isn’t very valid.
Most of the posts in this thread are inaccurate (at best) or false. Just FYI. People curious of role cuts can get a much better idea through posts on LinkedIn.
who got laid off in tech?
Yeah, they'll likely push the top and bottom of the salary bands down now. There a lot of companies adjusting pay bands down in light of increased labor supply in areas like IT.
With full sympathy for all affected, here's a small bright spot. I was able to use the midpoint base salary number from a now-gone open remote manager job at Starbucks I had applied to to get $5,000 more from where I was recently accepted.
On the offer call from about a month ago for the new job:
HR: we offer $XXXk, plus a couple other bonus-y things
Me: That's a very fair number. Thank you, but another company's midpoint is $5K more, but I like your company and this role more. I'm also near the end of the process with them.
HR: Wait, we can do the extra $5K, but no higher. I can get that approved.
Me: Agreed. Thank you!
... and now I'm at the new company relieved Starbucks didn't hire me too early.
Does anyone know which positions got laid off?
I thought Directors or VPs and above had to be in the office, not lower-level Senior Managers or Managers. Am I mistaken?
Tech department got wiped out
They had a back to office mandate why was any manager working remote…
Makes sense for them to be out
Yep they top the list of first to go
What a sh.t show
Heard that too, not surprised…
Yes
