Thread regarding Starbucks layoffs

18 Years gone what's next

So the dreaded email came into my box. After 18 years from barista to VP it all ends like this. Not what I imagined. Mad, confused, and a bit relieved to tell you the truth. I am worried for my team. I did my best to shield them from all the corporate cr-p. We had a a lot of fun while getting the job done. Change is inevitable and its a good thing. But when leadership cuts jobs that is the cowards way to handle the situation. Any id--t can come in and cut jobs. Innovators and leaders do everything to save the most values asset of a company its people. Yes Starbucks will weather this storm and hopefully everyone walks away ok.

Is it true that, conversely, “any id--t” can petition for headcount and wind up a bloated organization that now requires downsizing? I thought you were a VP and capable of evaluating both sides. Probably a good riddance in your case

Take those 18 years of experience and form your own Latte Larry's spite store, grow it into a mega brand, and displace Starbucks as a beloved brand?
