most people in the industry thought that when hassane became ceo of onsemi he was setting the company up for a takeover. he came to Cypress in 2016 with the "FABLESS" idea and slowly cut down sites to make the company look more appealing. then booom april 2020 infineon merger.
He joins onsemi and brings much of his team from cypress to lead with him. This time he calls it "fab lite." He has laid out a five year plan to "streamline" the company. He has already sold almost all the manufactoring sites... If i had to guess he's just ramping up his bi-anual layoffs becuse everyone else is.
Blend it in with other company layoffs so they can put the blame on the economy!
