Walgreens said it had entered into a settlement agreement with telemedicine provider Everly Health Solutions as part of which the pharmacy chain operator will pay the company $595 million over a contract dispute for COVID-19 testing.
The settlement, payable within two business days, comes after a judge in Delaware recently ruled against Walgreens' bid to set aside an arbitration ruling. Walgreens had faced paying a substantially higher amount, nearly $1 billion.
Regarding “Why is everything….” I agree. That last town hall didn’t really have any bold, new ideas. Amazon and Wal-mart will eat our lunch with same day delivery. Walgreens is basically cutting costs, treading water and waiting for a buyout.
Walgreens just lost $595M. Which leaders were fired because of this? Who are the marketing and IT leaders responsible? I bet no one got fired. Walgreens will layoff thousands of low level employees on a whim but will protect leaders even if they make big mistakes.

Walgreens issued a statement two weeks ago that said the maximum payment should be $79M. Now they agree to $595M payment??? That too payment within 2 days??? They have no money to pay fair wages to employees but have $600M to spare for fraud settlements. Shocking!!!
I hate this company so much and every single "leader" at the top. Shame on them all.
WOW can't pay their own help a fair wage BUT can pay $595 MILLION within two days. When are employees going to wake up? When is anyone EVER going to be held accountable. The company value is ONLY EIGHT BILLION or so.
ENOUGH of the excuses or the crickets that try to sweep it under the rug. What does it take, seriously what does it take to say enough is enough?
