Staples lingering on life support is worse than popes lingering on. I doubt Staples would acquire WBM, rather WBM purchasing what’s left of the charred remains of Staples. Ringle burned the bridge long ago when he was negotiating a deal to purchase them and PO’ed them. Losing Coretrust to ODP doesn’t help their cause to survive.
Just baseless rumors. Sycamore made their choice tonight and picked Walgreens over WBM as their next project. Staples is going on the back burner
WB Mason would be the one buying what’s left of Staples. I doubt they would find any of it attractive enough to buy.

It all adds up to a sale. Staples/WB to merge. Only way either can compete with Amazon.
Update your resume and get out of there. From the time they bought the company, they made it clear they were in the business of acquisitions and liquidation of companies. Frankly I thought it would be a few years before now.
