SAM execs meeting in London flying business class, Support execs meeting in RTP flying business class, backfills for desperately needed to support our customers, denied. (cost of these meetings could easily fund several support engineers)

Many of the CloudOps leaders were in Maui a few weeks ago for a planning session. In fact, they were brazen enough to post pictures on LinkedIn. No surprise, Jenny Marshall was the ring leader.
To the previous poster, very interesting post, glad you posted it.
Shameful to waste this amount of money but we cannot get backfills, insane!!
I don't work for NetApp, just looking, but I do work with NetApp extensively. I never post but this just hit so close to home. ( and I'll make it quick). Had a phone call scheduled with NetApp ( this week Wednesday) with 2 people, morning of they're in town, so we meet in person, 2 extra people show up, do nothing, and apparently all of this was booked Monday, specifically for me. There's no way this didn't cost 6-7k with the last minute bookings provided no value, and was also really inconvenient.
Posturing before the re-org and layoff
I’m sure Exec. team will claim these trips are necessary to run the business but so are positions not filled.
Run the business with no backfill, distribute the work among who’s left until cracks appear and let them eat cake 🍰
imagine if these execs actually realized that their travel resulted in less engineers on the floor. instead of beating on the floor managers to do more with less, they realized that their boondoggles resulted in the very thing they push on their subordinates to overcome.... just imagine....
Everyone is taking advantage before the Q1 cuts. A lot of those support teams will be affected.
