I keep seeing more and more first data people out of India intermingling in the team's chats with other regular support people. Being an American company, wouldn't FISERV be best served to stop canning valuable American citizens?

Racist that we are being replaced by Indians? The visa program is supposed to be to temporarily fill jobs when there are no American workers with the knowledge or a shortage of qualified people. Not fire and replace with cheaper

@a5+1jmxf4sc2 it's also the math that put Fiserv in the bottom tier of any measurable category of quality if any were invented.
And that is how it is going to stay because we can't deliver quality by just having the same people that deliver sub par sh-t. It was never about timelines so pausing all work to focus on quality will do nothing if we have the people who got here by not valuing it and who did not develop the skills to produce it. Besides, haven't delivered meaningful things quickly in recent history to start.

Many H1B’s make 6 figures. I know people who work for immigration and directly approved many.
Cheaper? Really? Many were hired making more money than Americans that have been here for years doing the same job. In fact, many were hired as Software Development Engineer advisors while many can’t get promoted to advisor. Slap in the face to us
who said H1B employees are cheap, take a look at their median wages in DOL labor certification for Fiserv they are paid more than local especially by Fiserv to provide an oppurtunity! there are strict rules now to make sure the wage determination are more than local wages for any H1B employment

H1b is preferred because the holders of h1b visas are beholden to the employer, if they don't work 60 hours or don't perform or any reason given the h1b is revoked and they are sent back to their country. these people coming here are so poor they are thrilled to work 60 hour weeks for american wages beacuse at home they only get $5 an hour anyway.
This is nothing new. I have supported IT in a few corporations that outsourced to India because it was "cheapterfasterbetter and solve Windows problems with just one phone call. I have met some folks from these firms who confirm you cannot understand the one phone call. True there are sharp people at Wipro, Tata and others but few and far between. But they are cheaper by and by and THAT is always assumed to increase shareholder value - the holy grail of business of course. IT at Fiserv was problematic with a few great departments (I worked for one). Since outsourced it has gone to blazes along with Sapience and other junk.
We also know that they hire one another all the time…. They bring their friends over for the opportunity to hold two jobs, producing the same products for them both.

It’s not company , it’s our uni party in DC . No matter who wins election, it’s same party who rules.
Companies are doing this as it’s easily possible based on laws. Politicians cry to change all bad laws during election time and after they stole votes , who cares about US citizens.
The “company” aka the stock holders is best served when they pay less for employees. Those stock holders, one of which is GC, sells thousands of shares for millions of dollars and have thousands left to sell. GC just sold $10M and has more than 265,000 shares left so well over $60M at today’s price. This is the math that drives decisions on who to keep or replace. Will it make the stock price go up at least long enough for them to cash in…no? More cuts, more stock buy backs, more purchasing of other companies.
Let me translate what the new CEO meant when he said the company would be a failure without DEI - he means it is cheaper to hire people from abroad and sc--w over the people in this country.
I've seen an American get laid off just to be replaced by an H1B for cheaper not far after.... no hate to them but what the company is doing is not fair to American citizens.
