Newsflash: Intel don't make the chips America needs. The chips Act was created because of the shortage of chips in the Auto industry and appliances. What little demand America has for data center and PC laptop chips are covered by other very competent company's. The U.S. Government should withdraw all of our tax dollars from Intel. Why should America be propping up a failed corporation?
The Chip Act is not free, it has a series of conditions to meet. It is misleading that Pat assumed that he will get it for sure, without passing down all the conditions. These conditions are fair so that the money is not wasted: what of the chip act money is all spent as salary/bonus to the 1% managers and VPs, or get into hands of corruptions?
Unfortunately Intel failed to meet all the conditions due to its low performance. Intel should not keeping blaming others, government or tax payers. It should think about how to improve itself to show progress, remove all the corrupted managers (why every 5 people need a useless manager) ...
