Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Another disparaging post taken down……For those that missed it

THESE POSTS ARE ALMOST AS BAD AS WATCHING THE VIEW ON TELEVISION….As I read through many posts and the ridiculous feedback responses, I quickly realized that many ASSUME and throw stuff against the wall, hoping to figure out the next big move. Many blame existing leaders for the changes affecting organizations and business groups. Do you realize the company is going through one of Canon's most significant transitional periods? Do you think that, as a company going through change, structural organizations won't be changed and reshaped? After all, that's why it's called transformational change. Do you realize many Fortune 500/1000 companies are undergoing the same changes? Yet, we blame leadership and Canon for the screams on this forum. All I continue to hear are people who think they should have all the privileges of the world. It's almost as bad as watching the View for an hour on TV. If you don't like the direction and the people working daily to redefine and ensure Canon continues to be a successful company that provides your check every two weeks and insurance, rethink your career and join Indeed! Stop complaining! The same people complaining on these posts and forums are the same ones complaining about no promotions; it's pretty apparent why it's not happening...

Do you realize print has been in decline for well over a decade? Please list the “many” Ft 500 companies with as blatantly an obvious iceberg... same old song: In the absence of leadership, course change or common sense the message is to keep asking employees to do more with less.

Executives are triggered and cannot take criticism. Do you have that much time to troll these boards instead of, I don’t know, strategize to turn around your sinking profits? There is no excuse for the poor results. You're not a startup. Consistent poor decisions over many years in conjunction with a lack of quality leadership has lead to the current state of affairs. This is not the technician’s fault, this is not the sales rep’s fault, this is not the customer service rep / billing rep / order management rep / analyst / IT specialist’s fault. The little guy (gal) has no power in this firm. Look in the mirror, Mr. Executive, it is YOU who is the problem that you so desperately seek to resolve.

The fact that people are making these God awful posts about how employees are lazy, etc, and then have the nerve to hurry up and take down the post?!? Why even bother? If you stand by what you say, leave it up there..I, personally am glad that these posts are being reposted!!! You are either worried someone/anyone will know it was YOU who posted it, or you are the definition of the "YES" person.. Let's see how great you think it's going to be when you get your next review...

I see a trend in these replies that state they agree? Agree why? Because you are the one that originally posted it and is now mad that you got got? Or is it because you have such low expectations that you are comfortable in your little cubby hole su-king up and thinking you are actually valued? Stay off this page if you so happy and content! This page is not for you! People are quitting and people are leaving but maybe you haven’t noticed while rocking your knee pads? And why take the post down when you are oh so proud of what you said?

Agree 100%. I dont like half of the stuff going on at Canon but i still come in everyday and get to work.

Unless of course you consider a “significant transitional period” one where the companies core business continues to shrink, they randomly move around unqualified expats into leadership positions with no experience, no plan and no idea at all what to do.

This company is done. Done!!! Enjoy the paycheck while you can. I know I sure am.

The fact that posts are being taken down after pretty much insulting employees and calling them lazy is nauseating.. This company doesn't care about their employees.. They read complaints and legit concerns and it falls on deaf ears because employees are just "entitled" - - The best is how they just dismiss everything and pretty much tell you, go get a job somewhere else.. Talk about a kick on the teeth..

Wow I didn’t see that one! Thank you for reposting! That post pretty much sums up why things are the way that they are! Nothing in these posts ask for anything that GOOD COMPANIES do or should offer their VALUED employees! So for anyone in mgmt or HR to read these posts and being aware of the common complaints and frustrations and then to turn around and call these people/employees lazy and entitled and telling them to quit is insulting! You reap what you sow!
