Consol and Arch Resources joined together but one day before a fire broke out in mine. All were ok. And insurance typically would pay for damages. Some miners back to work in few days. Then 165 got laid off. Non- Union coal mine so they had no rights. Sad, prayers their way.

Had they been Union they would have had a good severance package plus more. Youth Non-Union wisdom and not senior experience prevailed. Sorry they lost out. Wise up next time.

Leer South coal mine. Damages estimated at 29 to 30 million from the fire. Glad no one hurt. If insurance pays that plus laying off 165 ...... at time of consolidation of Arch Resources and Consol energy.
