Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

HR EMEA update

On Monday there will be emails sent by your local site detailing RTO. Most sites in EMEA cannot accommodate a full capacity and will announce phased returns. Any delay will be due to your local site.

There's a lot of questions on who decides if you're close enough. This would be your local site. Can you dispute this? Yes, raise a HR ticket. Your VP can sign it off if in agreement.

How long do you need to be in the office, 5 hours is the understanding but this is at your managers discretion. If you have personal commitments, you still have this flexibility available to you.

Will network connection be monitored? No. This is logged anyway, but there is no mandatory criteria on this.

Are field reports being tracked?Yes, if you're field, you are expected to be in the office or with a customer or partner. This will become part of your kpi for bonus or grade increase in Q3FY26.

I come in everyday, it’s the most pointless sh-t of all time. Gas and car maintenance alone is like a 5k pay cut. I usually stay about 2 hours. Whenever there is a sponsored lunch at the main hub I know my fat and incompetent manager will be HUSTLING down there, so I use that as my time to drive home, if I’m ever there more than 3-4 hours something has gone wrong. So… good luck everybody.

Get your lazy backsides into the office and stop whining. This isn’t a whinery it’s a refinery where we refine aging tin with new badges.

Given that another thread appears to suggest they are not taking public transport into the equation for calculating travel time, I for one will not be commuting as I have no access to private transport. I am not shelling out for a car purchace to search for a seat in an office that none of the people I would ever collaborate with are located.

Dell is discriminating against those who use public transport with this 'policy'

I read this on InsideDell, too. Why would they wait until the day of it being enforced to update people's profiles? A bit more heads up would be appreciated.

On the main Inside Dell page covering on-site work they updated the question on what is considered “near” and (try to) explain the process they are using.

They also state that people being transitioned to on-site will have their Workday profile updated on March 3rd. Will US sites be sending similar emails this week? Would be nice to know before March 3rd…

Bratislava office had last week site lead call and they said they are still figuring out how they will implement the policy, they also need to talk to trade unions, so the possible timeline is end of Q1/Q2

let's make this place look like a migrant shelter. Everyone on the floor, cr-p everywhere, just make it look like the most ridiculous place to work. Take pictures and post them on social media.
