Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

TSMC Digging in for good deal from Trump

Intel 18A mind as well have been done in a laboratory. It’s really not scale since Intel supply chains and operations are 12 years away from being as capable as TSMC.

You see it takes 4-5 years to build / qualify a fab. Now think if you have to retrofit all of Intel fabs to be efficient at scale. This is site infrastructure… not tools.

Intel architecture has led to a flawed process… they spent all the focus on tick tock and blaming suppliers for their problems…but not making any updates to infrastructure…..over 15 years…

Intel could never compete with TSMC on yield or price.

Basically, TSMC weighing on taking on Intel to drag them down!! They need a lot of benefits to be convinced.

The fab jobs are probably safer than the design jobs. TSMC can’t just shut them down (cost too much idle). Broadcom has a much easier job of sending all these sales and marketing people away.

No matter how we dress it up. It is a plain and simple robbery trying to revive a gravely sick child - Intel.

Canary in the coal mine will be the discreet relocation of top TSMC engineers to the US.

Gotta make sure we get the talent out…whether they agree to leave or not, to be honest. I hope the three-letter agencies are working over there to make them offers they can’t refuse.

Trump is happy to let China handle TSMC.

TSMC just wants Intel as its customer. It does not want to be su-ked into Intel fab vortex at all, not to say risking its know-how to help Intel finishing its advance processes to compete with it in the future.

News flash .. Trump does not own Intel. Also, TSMC doesn't want Intel. Why would they? it's a complete cluster ph-k. If Intel was worth saving, Intel would be busy doing it. But it's not, it's just sitting on it's thumb waiting to be bought or bailed out. It's beyond pathetic at this point.
