Thread regarding Optum layoffs

My raise breaks down to 37 cents per hour. Yet I'm expected to work harder to meet unrealistic metrics!

What amount of increase does a 3 rating get someone?

Just had my performance review, all 3s and one 4! Still only 2% Merit and I've been here almost 13 years. This company is a joke

LOL, reading all the salary dismay makes me think ya’ll are noobs. The merit increases have been sh-t for the last 16yrs, never have they kept up with inflation. So working here you lose household income every year and they wonder why we quiet quit by working slowly and minimally!

I'm assuming your raise of .37 cents/hr is based on a 40 hour work week. With constant RIF's, expect to work 60 hours/wk.....Your raise is actually 13 cents/hr. This means, with that raise, you'll have to work about 38 hours to afford a dozen eggs @$5 a dozen.

Kinda like the sense of entitlement the people that slurped their way to the top have?!

Why would they pass the money along nobody votes with their feet they just keep taking it. It will continue till they find the sweet spot where people break and leave. Obviously they have not found that yet

The amount of clown comments on here is astonishing. This is a corporate company- it’s cut and dry, what the heck did you people expect? The entitled mentality is truly wild.

In case the message isn’t clear, they’re trying to force attrition so they don’t have to lay people off. Business hasn’t been great and UNH has been looking to unload more and more work offshore every year. You may not like it, but it’s a fact. Now the stock price has tanked so they have even more reason to justify layoffs in April.
The economy is on a downward spiral and with talks of discontinuing Medicaid and social security, the markets and employers are going to cut back and Medicaid is a big part of our business.

The money they make is not for the employees or the members. It is for the shareholders. Blackrock owned over 72 million shares, 7.8 percent of the company, Vanguard owns millions and so do a bunch of other high profile private equity. Your just the work horse.

After the year they have had, we are lucky they didn't ask us to give them money back.

The ransom Witty paid had to come from somewhere and we all know it wasn’t coming out of his package. They also changed how they fund so in prior yrs I got to select (to a point t) the raises my employees got. This year the sr director did the entire department (300 ppl) and no managers had any input. We were also told 4&5 are going to be very hard to achieve going forward. IMO They hope ppl get fed up and quit.

What's the inflation rate right now? Raises probably don't keep up.

I got a 2 rating (no raise and no bonus) , even though i worked hard and delivered on all my projects on time. Now they are giving me 30 days to improve myself. Am I going to be laid off after 30 days? Has anyone else gone through this before? Also, wondering if they are trying to get ride of higher paid employees to hire a lower paying employee?

Always been a 5, Exceeds Expectations with a 2.5-5% raise which was between a $1 - $3/hr. RRP's have been high $1,000 to $2400.
This year, first 4 "Meets Expectations, in over 15 years and a 1% raise, Came out to about 25 cents / hr. And an RRP of less than $900.
I had to laugh out loud in my review and throw in a "why even bother". That's a slap in any employees face after hearing about what the company made last year and what the CEO's made and the investigation they are involved in for insider trading.
If the CEO'S have learned nothing from Brian's unfortunate death, they should really consider beefing up security at home and their offices.

45 cents here, score 4. Nothing says don’t work hard as you won’t be compensated for it. I can imagine the 5’s are even more under-rewarded.

I’m so very sorry and I know most people deserved much better than what they received. I know I did.
