Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Redeployment

How has your experience been working with the redeployment team? One of them messaged me stating that i matched for a job and should apply (i already applied to this job days before). I’ve also applied to numerous other jobs. The job i applied for that he matched me for, i still have not heard back regarding an interview. Whats the timeline in which you are receiving an interview request after the deployment agent reaches out to you regarding a match?

I didn’t apply for redeployment. I was told to take or resign. Basically your current position is gone. We are moving you here, one pay grade lower, take it or leave it. So far it’s not been horrible but definitely not a comparable position to the previous.

I highly recommend, if you’re in the position, to take your severance and stop answering their emails and calls. United is a sinking ship. Get out while you can.

I applied for a job I did not have experience in and I was not a 5 and I did get selected. It all depends on the hiring manager as to what they choose. I applied to anything I was interested in regardless of experience.

Whether or not there will be an interview will 100% depend on the hiring manager. If he/she wants to interview you, it’s typically fairly quick, but since your separation date is still over a month away, it may be different? Sometimes they have other people in mind for open spots too so you just never know.

If your last day is 3/31, I wouldn’t hold your breath, although sometimes it does work out for people. When did you apply for these positions/get that message about matching? If it was just this week, maybe they are still working on setting up time for interviews etc. Have you reached out to that person that said you were a match to follow up?

Their service is terrible. I found them to be condescending, and they are the conduit for executives to feel better about layoffs, it is the last act of "compassion".

How long ago did this happen? When was your last day? Were you part of the recent 2/6 last day? If so, it’s no longer redeployment as your last day has passed. Now if you were interviewed and hired, it would be considered a re-hire.

I know many people that have applied for posted positions after being informed of lay off... and nobody has been been offered a position

I applied during redeployment and never heard anything back. Most people on my team had the same experience. I almost fell out of my chair when you said someone reached out to say you matched a job. 2% of my department had internal offers prior to the end of our 2 week notice of termination. If you are not a 5, you can forget about a placement internally. They determine if you are worth the effort to keep based on your past performance, evaluations, and if you match every detail of a job you apply for.
