I really didn’t think I could be more perplexed, but I still have my laptop and bank card as I haven’t heard one word about what to do with these after initially hearing we would receive a box to return the computers themselves. Is this the same for everyone? I’m so glad Cargill is in the rear view mirror. Are they expecting us to contact HR and ask what needs to be done? Blows my mind.

I was told just to trash the card. Account was disabled, so no need to return.
Call AMEX and cancel the card yourself. They'll never do it as they don't even do so for an employee who leaves for a reasons other than a layoff.
This company can't even lay people off competently. What a joke.
Just received an email late last week asking if I still had my device and if so, to provide my name (ha!) and address for them to ship the box/label to for me to return it. Responded, haven't recieved any confirmation, so it'll likely just show up at my door at some point. But then again, I thought that when they told me it would come that weekend after we were informed of the layoff, so......
How do you legally dispose of the computer?
Not HRs fault it IT which is in india so they dont know whats goign on. Just keep it.dont do them the favor of trying to give it back. If youve received all your pay they cant charge you for it. F em.
This is actually very common in big companies. Coming from DT&D, the day you leave the company your access to Cargill files on your computer are automatically cut off and your credit cards are also shut off. Sometimes it is more expensive to track down your computer and have you ship it back knowing that you cannot access anything on it anyway.
I had to ask HR, they didn’t had any clue what to do with Credit Card, Computer, mobile phone, etc. what I did, because I wanted to have a clean stable, contact IT asked them for an address to ship the stuff. The insured parcel costs I have claimed back prior to my leave and on my last day I just arranged UPS to pick it up at home. Never heard anything back but due to tracking informations I now that it was received. HR is incapable but that is t a surprise since they moved certain roles into the cheap labor countries.
