I have heard a max of 1% layoffs first the rest of this year with most groups unaffected

someone is posting the same thing in every thread.
Today I received the Layoff notification. My team is about 15 members, but about 3 members will be gone. The reason is position closing and there is no one to take over my job.
From my perspective, the issue with Dell is that the culture tends to prioritize surface-level successes—----what looks impressive at first glance. They value the end result without considering the behind-the-scenes effort, processes, and details required to make it work. Unfortunately, this is often overlooked, and the crucial aspects of how things function seem to be broken or not fully addressed. Management seems to focus solely on data, relying on it to confirm that everything is on track, but miss the bigger picture. Along the way, you encounter many people who seem to be “hanging around” or doing just enough to appear engaged at the right moments. These people probably need to have a wake up call..
It’s every quarter. Has been for years. Hack and slash and then hire kids who don’t know you’re treating them like Sh-t. Like clockwork since 2022.
unaffected guy is back
Our team was told to make 20% cost savings - we're trying to optimise cloud costs etc but we've lost two team members today too.
Dell does not plan layoffs that far in advance. It is usually more of a knee-je-k reaction to whatever is going on at the time.
Nope. None. For the whole year.
copy paste copy paste. this has been proven a lie multiple times
