On call

I’m back to the office in two weeks. I’m no longer allowed to be considered remote.

I participate in an on call rotation. From now on if I get a call I’m driving 40 minutes to the office to log on.

I don’t get compensated to use my utilities in the home so I’m not using them without compensation.

This is a great idea and it’s the way things need to be done. Multiple small inflexibilities that add up over time will force their hand. They have told you that home is not a suitable environment to work in so make that the case

Same as you OP.....hmmm maybe ill just turn off all notifications after 5pm since its outside of work hours and i have to be "in the office" to be considered working LMAO

We can play the "youre only working when youre in the office game", im down!

I now travel to work in the Dublin office to jump on a teams call to speak to customers in the UK while chasing finance in India and log tickets in a portal that go nowhere all the while pushing customers to self serve on a premier portal.
I do all this while chasing various teams across different locations in Europe who are also on teams calls and to add insult to injury I also have to sit through video calls of Bill and Jeff pushing AI and All In from the US.

Damn right and make sure you claim from the time you were 'called out' until the time you get back home again.

Out of interest what region and dept are you in?
