Yes, but not for you—at least not yet. You'll have about two years of relative stability. However, once your RSUs start vesting, that's when layoffs will become a real concern. The more unvested stock you have, the more likely you are to be targeted. Amazon gains little from laying off new hires; instead, it’s those actively vesting RSUs who are most at risk.
