Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Boycott Tell Dell

Don’t do Tell Dell this year. They take the information and twist it to whatever fits their narrative is. For 2024 Tell Dell they claimed we all wanted to RTO.

Yesssss! Boycot it BIG TIME! Just keep deleting the emails for it as if you never them. B/c only positive responses get used. No one likes being ignored when seeking attention.

Lots of comments here about whether to participate or respond with low ratings. As a former manager at Dell I can tell you that non-participation gives your manager a mild black-eye. Low ratings at any level (manager, company-wide) are even worse. Maybe your manager deserves the black-eye and it is easy to know how to respond. But if you have a good manager Tell Dell becomes an incredibly frustrating process.

Tell Dell is not a survey where the company is looking for feedback to make improvements in good faith. It is simply a mechanism to weigh your compliance to the Dell message (i.e do you bleed Dell blue or not). If you provide negative results your manager is punished. At no time is addressing your concerns a consideration. Your manager has no authority to change much of anything. The question you need to answer is; do you like your manager or not. Of course, the best way to win this game is not to play.

Director and senior manager have geo information - it's pretty easy to tell who does this -- don't do it - CLM

Don’t boycott it. All they’ll do is cherry pick the answers anyway.

Do your tell dell and give honest scores.

They may try to reassure you that Tell Dell is anonymous, but it is not. Just to be crystal clear ... Tell Dell is NOT anonymouse.

It’s anonymous but you can see results by Geo.

For example if your team has 10 in it with two in India, two in China and 6 in the States then if you get negative feedback or scores you can easily enough figure out who gave it to you.

I know this because I know two people who engineered their severance by providing very detailed feedback knowing that it would hasten their exit.

They really only use Tell Dell to move managers out of manager roles. If you aren’t clapping your hands while leadership defecates on you then it’s your manager whose neck is on the line regardless of how competent they might be. Oh and they also use it to feed you lies.

“The results are in and we hear you. You all want a more connected workplace. Get in your cars and drive”

Please get over this. We are all employees at will and beholden to the man who signs our paycheck. Grow up.
