Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

Ernest F2F - Tuesday, February 18

I spoke with my boss last night, and they mentioned that the atmosphere was very uncomfortable. Ernest's leadership style isn’t working. According to them, everyone was just nodding along, agreeing that things were moving in the right direction and praising the efforts, but there was very little pushback on anything. It seems people are avoiding conflict, not wanting Ernest's passive-aggressive attitude directed at them. Interestingly, the white males were the least vocal (except for 1 and we all know who that is).

Honestly, it felt like there was a sense of fear in the room, with everyone sensing that Ernest doesn’t trust them. My boss didn’t give me many specifics, but they mentioned that Ernest seemed paranoid, showing a mix of happiness and frustration. Despite this, everyone kept agreeing, even on things they didn’t fully support.

This is so true. We all see Ernest's agenda through his hiring practices.

The unfortunate thing is that Enrique is letting him change the HPWay into the ErnestWay.

"It is difficult to remain silent when someone assigned to uphold our founders' legacy is instead pursuing their own agenda."

"The HP Way" is just for the show. It is being routinely violated by everyone from Enrique all the way down.

"Ernest is an ernest man. Please stop bullying him out of spite and jealsousy."

You spend a lot of time cheerleading HP on this site. Judging by your grammar, spelling, and your replies you are or a complete mo--n and a paid shill.

P.S. You sound a lot like that foreign "contractor" who keeps saying his job is so safe because he is so much smarter than Americans.

How is this considered bullying? He is in a leadership position, and we all hope he adopts the HPWay. However, he has yet to do so. It is difficult to remain silent when someone assigned to uphold our founders' legacy is instead pursuing their own agenda. Perhaps he sees himself as a transformative figure, akin to a "Black Trump," though I hope you take this as intended—a point for reflection and not bullying.

It's interesting that we've all been friends for over 20 years, while Ernest has been with the company for maybe 2 years. I don't think Ernest fully understands how close some of us are, especially those of us who have raised our kids next door to one another and attended each other's weddings. Some of us are still on the front line and some of us are VPs but we are a tight-knit group, and when we have concerns about the direction leadership is taking, we talk among ourselves. I really believe Ernest should take the time to get to know some of us personally, rather than viewing us solely as numbers. All we seem to see from him is a focus on cuts, a preference for hiring DEI personnel, a disregard for those with tenure at HP, and a tendency to socialize only with people at his level or higher. It's all about the optics.
