Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Sycamore news today is a scam

WBA stock was hit hard recently... one billion fine ordered by the court and dividend suspension are both terrible news. Company needed some good news to stop the stock slide.
They are propping up the stock by saying the buyer is interested again....!!
Never trust this Walgreens leadership.

I would expect a fair share of Walgreens value is in its prescription count. As far as Tim is concerned, he may not have appreciated what a complete dumpster fire Walgreens is.

Well said. Turnaround is needed regardless. Walgreens leadership does not want to do the hard work of turning the company around. They want to sell off the company and have someone else do the work. Why did Tim and Neal take their jobs if they were incapable of doing a turnaround???

If Wag have a change in ownership, they can automatically renegotiate their contracts. The turnaround and the sale aren't separate items. Even with a new owner, assuming the stockholders agree, the turnaround is still necessary. Walgreens only real value is is fixing the business, they don't own enough property to make it valuable.

Anyone, please please buy Walgreens. Let me pocket my millions and retire again.

Will believe it when it happens. When management is desperate to sell, buyers will ask for very favorable terms. Sc--w the employees and shareholders.

For what it’s worth, Seeking Alpha is now reporting that Sycamore is having some success finding financing for the Walgreens acquisition. Stock is currently $10.88, up 72 cents.

Sycamore prefers to invest in Family Dollar. The news about Sycamore's interest in Walgreens last week was a joke. Why will anyone buy Walgreens????

Good question. If a buyout isn't happening, I guess we're back to a hoping for a turnaround for Walgreens. Good luck with that.

By "all" do you mean every Walgreens employee or certain departments?

They will layoff all very soon. I don’t have any information but I rely on facts. This is obvious to me.

Leadership talk is all about a turnaround. Behind the back they are trying hard to sell. Will this leadership ever tell the truth???

At this point, just make a decision already. If leadership was confident in its turnaround plan, then why all this interest in selling?
