Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Tech and critical mindset right?

When I started working in computer science, I was always told:

  • The job is to always understand what you're doing, that's a mindset you need to keep all time.
  • Like, never run a piece of code or script if you don't understand it
  • Don't trust what you don't understand.
  • Be careful and critical all time.
  • Understand things is the only way to improve and avoid failure

etc...

Sorry, it's a mindset.

We know also to trust some sources, with limits and reasonable info.

With that in mind...
Why NONE of the managers can EXPLAIN the policy? Or even give a clear statement? (spoiler: they are clueless as we all are)

Well, is this policy like a trick question where if you comply, you lost this tech spirit and so you failed the test?

Likely not :(

This is so illogical, I wonder if anyone else like me hit the "phish report" button, on this 31/1 email...

Because sorry, I work in tech.

I am not even sure if SVP had the info... TBH I also feel for them all.
Really don't want tgeir shoes. I guess the majority is as upset as we all are.

Already the second half of February and they still haven’t communicated anything substantive to managers below a SVP level. I have to imagine they are all tired of the questions they cannot answer because senior leaders and HR have left them in the dark just as much as ICs.

AI is the future and we put graphics cards in PCs better than anyone else in the world. This amazing strategy speaks for itself.
Not heard much about the "Great Tech Refresh" T-shirt was harping on about at sometime or other
