Thread regarding 3M layoffs

ESC town hall

Great questions asking about employee retention and growth. A number of leaders answered the questions, but didn’t mention anything about retention or acknowledging employee value. Just evasive answers and plugging the SCA. Just say you value or you don’t!

Someone asked Tireman which KPI metric was priority. Guess what. Tireman said.... ALL is priority.
Tireman wants everything important!

One of the most positive things about the 3M of the 80s and 90s is that the company didn't overly rely on outsiders to bring in "ideas" like SCA. In fact, 3M and the 15 percent rule were industry best practices that competitors found hard to emulate because their CEOs were too focused like GE on beating the quarterly estimates handed to them by Wall Street and refused to allow autonomy.

Enter GE reject Mcnerney and his Sick Sigma plague and the place never recovered. Now BB is focused on bringing outsiders and giving Tireman even more rope. BBs snarky comments about Minnesota Nice said what he thinks of 3M. Meanwhile, I suspect he's in Florida this week and will wait for a thaw before flying in on his corporate jet to Maplewood.

Btw. Did the townhall get another round of clapping seals again? Barking approval for the head honchos.

Supply chain academy is such a garbage program and complete waste of time. Congrats to KF for selling it to 3M (at what I’m assuming is at a hefty fee).

Key takeaway from the small man: Stock price is all that matters.

Consistent with the charlatan and his eunuch's messaging a few weeks back.
