MAGA is kicking a-s, most of it right out of the country. All you H1B Visas are next. Start selling your fancy cars and McMansions now or you'll have to leave them behind and not get any $$ back out of them.
Long overdue. India needs you. Go home, help India become a super power now. They desperately need some help over there. Its even worse than the US government!

They shipped as many jobs as they could starting more than 20 years ago when we were offered the great opportunity to move there for an 80% pay cut. Like the US the percentage of useful talent is small and were quickly absorbed so companies have to pick through the scraps in any country where they can get bodies. As a customer not only of Cisco but companies like Apple and Google, looking at the tragic failures in software from all of them there really isn't enough effective talent anywhere in the world to go around.

Everybody likes H1B. It's intertured servitude. Work for us or get deported. Crazy way to do business

As a shiny white straight male American I've worked with people in the same classification as well as others from around the world, both locally on H-1B and in their home country. At least in software most perform equally badly regardless of any identity, where they come from or where they work.
Google AI says Cisco has 1,330 H-1Bs which is dwarfed by the number laid off in each round. The reason Cisco needs layoffs is because most of you aren't good at your job, and because the leadership is so fundamentally flawed even when better people are brought in they quickly adapt to the culture of failure. For 40 years Cisco couldn't do quality software development or even bug fixing which is why it's lost market share in its existing markets, and after 30 years of acquisitions Cisco seems no longer able to integrate those businesses to grow in new areas.
H-1B or no H-1B Cisco is going to be cycling through employees for the foreseeable future.
Expect the H1B cap to triple with Elon running the show
You are forcing CISCO to hire in India even more then

If that happens the work will be done efficiently and accurately by 1/5th of the resources who are qualified and talented. And the high tech will no longer have a third world country culture.
Cisco is beating you to the punch and setting up shop in India anyway, cutting out the paperwork and charade of US wages

You shouldn't flatter yourself. Cleaning up after your mess and teaching you your job has become very tiresome.
Take your fake degree and your nepotism and book it back to your home. Start your own Cisco. I'm sure you'll do great.
