Hows quickly they turn on those they once called friends and supported.

They WANT it to backfire. They want people to leave so they can point to a reduced cost without having to do yet another layoff. Then FB can cash out as he heads off to the new gig for Schmuck a L'Orange without a thought to the centuries of experience lost.

Fiserv PROUD for double standard and lead from behind. They just keep reminding you are the serfs.

My boss is remote and I hate the fact that she’s remote yet I have to come in 5 days for 9hours.

Last time we were on a call, it looked like she was wearing a hoodie while I’m in the office in corporate attire.

In our bi weekly team call “hey guys make sure you’re doing 9+ hours in the office!” And she has that d-mb grin on her face.

How does anyone except anyone to work for a manager that is paid more and held more accountable but is remote

I was part of the Spring 2020 purge. Nearly all of us were late 50s or older and remote workers. It was obvious what Frank was doing. I guess it didn't help me much that I blasted Frank in the "anonymous" employee survey a couple months before. I'm way better off now, so I guess he did me a favor.

It's a win/win/lose for the company.

A small number of people will relocate. I know 1 of about 10 people who did relocate. So they get what they want (butts in seats, but without the cost of retraining).

Most people will quit. So they get what they want (reduction in workforce without the bad press of direct cuts).

The lose is the company is losing significant institutional knowledge. I can say that 4 of the 10 people that were remote were invaluable and their loss can't be easily calculated. I 100% believe that their products will suffer for the next few years (and these are products that need more expertise).

I'm still scratching my head on so much of this. Priority one should have been "how do we improve our products to be best in class"? Instead it's been "how do we make sure we have as many butts in seats 8+ hours a day"?
