Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

I would take voluntary severance option

I’m close enough to retirement that I don’t need to think twice about leaving. After ten years here, I’m more than ready to part ways with both this company and the health industry.

I would only get $384-3300 from unemployment benefits in my state vs $22,000 via the VRSP. I was also quite shocked when I started job hunting last night and found that many comparable positions are now actually paying more than what UHC is currently paying me. It's an easy choice for me.

I'm thinking about it too. Nowhere near retirement but I can't handle the unknown of a layoff.

I'm ready as well. I'd take the option but I'm not on any list.
