Any update for RTO Ireland?

There aren't enough desks in some offices in Ireland to fully accommodate RTO - does anyone know how this is going to work? We're gone past the 'mid-feb' comms that were promised.

"Has anyone's location changed from remote in any country yet? "

Mine is still showing as remote (for now). Based in Ireland.

I would imagine it is taken from workday. Has anyone's location changed from remote in any country yet?

When determining if you are "close to the office" (within one hour), do they consider the address on my contract or the one in Workday?

I’ve been fully remote since day one, but my contract lists a work address (my home) close to the office. However, two years ago, I moved to a new address (three hours away) and updated it in Workday back then. Which address would they use in this case?

Do you want all of them wear a yellow star on shirts and move to another side of the corridor when they see you walking?

Several offices in tbe USA also so not have enough desks and we have heard nothing from management/facilities. I have not gone in to see fir myself, but there are rumors that they are moving workstations muck closer together do you'll basically be ba----g elbows with your neighbors all day.

Some of us on shift patterns in Cork were told we are back in the office for all shifts, even for night and weekend shifts. It doesn't look like we will have access to a canteen on nights or weekends. Facilities had made it clear they didn't want us in the building at night.

@as+1jmab0a4g all hybrid will move to on-site period, only exception are those that have something in place with HR. There will be somewhat some flexibility that your management can offer for appointments and childcare.

There will be no more hybrid. Only on-site and remote. Those close enough to the office will change to on-site, those farther away will remain remote.

Do you really need a desk? I mean, can’t you just sit on the floor with your laptop like the rest of us? You are so entitled.

Is this only for those who were remote previously or are any hybrids also being considered if they live far out?

Thank you for this information. Really do appreciate it. It's more than what any manager/leader has said on any of the calls I've been on the last two weeks.

@aj+1jmab0a4g local facilities are being tasked with determining who is close enough. HR are then making the update. Every site will have different criteria, for example, London office will have a smaller commute radius than Round Rock, but larger than Dublin.

We've seen no policy. We have the same questions. We've been told this will be made available before March.

You may avoid RTO if your site isn't large enough, but eventually you'll be asked to return. Until leadership change their mind, again, this isn't going to change.

Most EMEA laws prevent disciplinary action for not RTO, my advise, do not RTO then stop. You are better to not have any record of returning.

@ad+1jmab0a4g Any idea when the official policy will be posted? How are they determining what "near" means? They say it will be updated automatically in Workday, but don't state how they are doing that...radius? Distance by actual route? Time at 3AM or rush hour?

Ireland was part of the list of Phase 1 countries last year - phase 2 countires seem to be staying as they are, hopefully for long time.

@ad+1jmab0a4g you talk about EMEA local sites? I thought phase 2 is on hold for now.

You may wish to ask your boss about the 2027 plan. I don't see Ireland listed. Hopefully, it is just an error in location strategy.

Hopefully that status cannot easily be undone - best of luck with it. Not enough desks and zero comms - a total mess by leadership..

Not heard anything as of yet. The silence is deafening. Almost like it was a knee-je-k reaction without any real forethought/planning.

I had my contract changed to stipulate I was fully remote. I wonder where Irish law stands with the amount of time required to change that...
