Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

Work's been a nightmare lately

My manager is making everything harder than it needs to be for no good reason. My work environment has become so toxic that I'm honestly just hoping for a layoff at this point. The tension is unreal, and it's just getting worse. It's like no matter how hard I try, it’s never good enough, and I can't keep doing this much longer. Is there a way to volunteer at this point?

It's pretty clear that management is going to be asked to cull "low performers" at some point. What that looks like I cannot say but I could make an educated guess, 80/20? 90/10? Also, how and who determines who gets cut is another question. The point being, if your boss can get you to leave before then it makes their job much easier.

I love those negative votes, especially towards those who speak the truth. It's true, you can just leave. Don't wait to be laid off.

Cargill will not appreciate your years of work. Cargill doesn't owe you anything.
Nobody will pay your head.

We're in the same dump hole and we need to start getting out of it on our own.

I prefer to stay in Cargill if I can, do I won't live. I feed my family from the money I make in Cargill. The rest doesn't matter.

Waiting for severance pay. Cargill should allow volunteer exit as it is not based on performance.

if you are a German emplyoee then you can apply for volunteer leave. You will get two months of salary on top. Dont know for other countries but agree work is getting worse every day. I wish this all would have an end, divest all plants and step out of the European market. Leadership at Cargill is so bad these days incredibile how fast a former great place to work turned into a big sh-t hole.

Stay strong. Use this as a time to learn the valuable skill of becoming comfortable being uncomfortable. Embrace the su-k. And find small ways of rewarding yourself for hanging in there. Practice self-compassion.
