Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Vegas odds now moving in favor of INTC no longer existing by the end of 2025

Foundry gets sold off or merges with TSMC and/or GF and product group merges with Broadcom and/or others. Intel disappears like Lucent did.

@cf: call 988. There are other options. Perhaps you and I can clean up our resumes by starting a business together

@a5 Agree. Being unemployable elsewhere, and effectively pinned at Intel waiting for my career death makes the real thing seem kind of appealing.

this would be a really good result for both shareholders an employees. the alternatives are far worse.

No, the Intel name is a boat anchor.

Those foundries are probably worth a lot less than you might think. I'd be surprised if any other company can realize a profitable benefit worth more than the purchase price, and the retrofit expense that comes with it .. plus other overhead. That is, unless it was all HEAVILY subsidized.

That is true. I was surprised to see this at the top of the page.

Makes me wonder if the new owner will want to keep the Intel name. Is the brand still worth anything?
